Q: About Witnesses - Do we need to have two witnesses and what ages must they be? A: Yes, you will need to have two witnesses, they can be whomever you like but they must be 18 years.
Q: We are having an elopement ceremony, just the two of us, we don't have witnesses, can you provide witnesses for us? A: Yes, we can provide legal witnesses for you upon request, there is an additional fee.
Q: We are coming from out of town to marry in Derby / Wichita, do we need to apply for a marriage license in Sedgwick County? A: No, you may bring a marriage license from your own home county. Any legal marriage license from Kansas is appropriate.
Q: Are there places nearby where we can go to after the ceremony for a small celebration? A: Yes, in fact there are several. After you have placed your reservation you may request our list of available options.
Q: Is the Mini Gazebo Venue included in the fees stated above? A: No, the fees listed above are for ceremony services only. The Mini Gazebo is a "public park area" located in Triangle Park in Derby. This is one of the many budget friendly Public Park Venue Suggestions we offer throughout South Central Kansas as a courtesy to our prospective clients. Many Public Park Areas are available to the public without charge or for a nominal fee. Currently, to our knowledge, there is no charge to use the Public Park Mini Gazebo for small gatherings for a limited period of time. That said, it's always best to check in with the Park Department directly for latest updates on their policies. To learn more about this venue contact the Derby Parks Department
Q: What about wedding music? A; Couples may bring a small boombox or iPad with your favorite wedding song is permitted. For those that desire a traditional wedding march, we recommend Pachelbel Canon in D. Many versions of Pachelbel Canon my be found at Amazon.com.
Q: Can we decorate the Gazebo? A: Yes. Simple non-invasive decorations are permitted. Simple bows affixed with ribbon, string or pipe cleaners "Only" are permissible and must be removed after the ceremony. Nothing must be left behind. No nails, staples or tacks may be used. Potted flowers placed around the base of the Gazebo are also permissible. No rice, confetti or birdseed is permitted. Wedding bubbles are permitted and may be found online or at Walmart and Hobby Lobby. If Fur Babies are attending, they must be collared and leashed. You must also be prepared to pick up any solid waste your little darling may deposit.
About Date Availability Please Note: Date availability changes frequently. That is to say, if you inquire about a date at let's say 1pm and decide to return at 5pm to reserve the date, the date may no longer be available. The best recommended practice is to be prepared to Save the Date at the time of inquiring to insure the date you want. Otherwise, if you wish to inquire about a date then return at a later time to reserve it you must contact us to re-check the date availability again before placing a reservation. Pay in Full Option If your elopement date is less than 6 weeks away at the time of reservation it is required to be paid in full. How It Works: Secure Your Date with a [ Save the Date Deposit ], an invoice for the remaining balance will be sent to you via PayPal and must be paid on receipt to finalized the your reservation. ********* Of course you may pay in full at any time if you wish. Many couples prefer to simply pay in full and have it done and out of the way. Just one less thing to occupy yourself with...right?
